This is a really good news app. It would be even better with 3D Touch support.
You can now assign prompts for students to answer. Very helpful in understanding comprehension!
Now my students can complete written prompts right on the app! Its great!
The capabilities of adjusting reading levels and word counts is versatile. I have students of varying levels in one ELA class and these articles can be catered to each one.
Some bad moments
The articles and assignments in the app are not up to date. Latest article in-app is from 1/7/16 (today is 1/22/16). Also the latest assignment I gave to my class is not findable in the app. Back to the browser version and waiting for improvement
I use this service to find engaging articles in Spanish. The Spanish articles are not available on the app- so Im deleting it... Too bad- the website and service are fantastic!!
Crashes upon opening EVERY TIME (iOS 9.2.1). Many schools & kids cant update iOS on the reg. PLEASE fix your app for all versions of iOS!
Title screen loads, app hangs and then crashes. Love the website. Hoped the app would be a nice resource. Alas, not to be.
I dont want to give you my email address to be able to sample the app. Useless.
Finally a newsela app for my student iPads!!! So much easier than having them log into the websites!!! There are a few glitches here and there, especially with the speed and loading wait time. Im sure with updates this will be fixed! Thank you newsela!!!
